Colour
The colours used for the background of the album are very space like. It looks as if they are on a different planet. There clothing colours give a similar effect as they are very weird and wonderful. This gives the audience an idea of originality. There colours choices are so 'out there' it therefore represents the alternative electronic sound MGMT create.

MGMT's image is very clear from there choice of images on the album cover. For example there weird and wonderful clothing choices on both the cover and their videos represents them. The iconography the audeince reconise is there bright and outrageous clothing. On the front of the album there look seems to be described as 'futuristic caveman'. Then from the back of the album from the choice of the sun setting and the colours reflecting off the sea they seem to look as if they are at a ceremony or ritual. The weird and wonderful look MGMT have represents there Alternative dance genre as they are weird and different to normal dance music and dance images. There iconography is therefore very unique and different so that they are there own style of dance music not just typical dance.
Layout
On the front of the album the main focus is the members of the band themselves. With both of them on either side of MGMT it means that the main focus is on them and there clothing. However because MGMT is written again in a weird looking futeristic font the audience cannot miss it. From both the men on the front and the font you would reconise that this is MGMT. On the back the image itself is also the main focus of the album. The album as a whole focuses more on the images making sure they are the centre of focus.
