Cover Analysis - Gorillaz 'Demon Days'

Colour

The colours from 'Demon Days' is very plain and simple, however the cartoon character that represent the band members are colourful and weird looking. Therefore because the background is so plain the main focus is on the band itself. This helps to promote the band and in there videos you will reconise them and know whos song it is straight away. The font again is very simple and plain so that it does not take the attention away from the band

Image

The Gorlliaz image is in a quirky cartoon way. This is unique idea as they never show themselves, even when performing live they use this iconography and are shadowed by the cartoons on the back drop. This is a good idea because they as a band will never be overlooked or mistaken because the cartoons are so prominante and feature on the front and the back of the Album (with a monkey).

Layout

On the front of the CD you can see all the band member split into 4 sections this represents them as individuals. They all have there own look and can be seen sepatrely. However on the back of the album you can see them all together and one slightly more away from the band. This makes them then look more of a collective and they create the band.
